They usually don’t want to talk about the big picture. When you lose focus of the big picture, little things will hang you up.

Realize that what you do today determines your tomorrow. Each thought you think, and action you take will move you closer to some outcome. Your life is too valuable to waste precious time and effort. No matter how you ended up where you are, chose to make the moves that will both change your scenario and ensure you never again end up in this place.

Realize how important gratitude is. When you think about all the good things in your life, it takes your attention away from some of your trouble. Take inventory of all your many blessings. If you woke up this morning, be thankful. If you have food to eat, be thankful. If you have a place to live, be thankful. If you have people in your life you love, be thankful. Write down all the things you are grateful for. You’ll be amazed at how blessed you are. Gratitude, by the way, produces more blessings in your life.

Realize the importance of speaking positive words. Words have power. Be careful about what you let come out of your mouth. Choose to speak only positive words. If you can’t say anything good, maybe you shouldn’t say anything at all.

Realize the importance and power of exercise. You’d be amazed at the impact exercise has on your life and outlook. People who exercise regularly are much more optimistic. Getting your blood circulating and the oxygen flowing through your body will do wonders for you. Try it. You’ll see.
